Mentrau Iaith Cymru’s work encompasses many different areas and varies year on year depending on the opportunities that arise, the needs of the Mentrau Iaith, and developments in Welsh Language Policy.
We believe in the importance of providing activities, events and services for people of all ages and from various backgrounds to demonstrate – and to prove, that you can live an exciting and fun-filled life through the medium of Welsh in Anglesey and elsewhere in Wales. We also believe that the Welsh language has an important role to play in regenerating, interpreting and sustaining the local economy, thereby securing a prosperous future for the island’s communities.
We work in the areas where there are large numbers of Welsh-speakers with the aim of maintaining and expanding the areas that are of strategic importance to the Welsh language. Equally important are the areas where there are fewer Welsh-speakers, where we work to secure an important and valuable role for the Welsh language in everyday life.

Pethau Bychain Campaign - Do the Little Things
“Pethau Bychain” is the Welsh Government’s latest campaign. The campaign draws its inspiration from the famous words of our patron saint, David, “Gwnewch y pethau bychain” (Do the little things).
The campaign aims to encourage people all over the country to share suggestions about how we can all make little changes to increase the use of the Welsh language from day to day.
