Menter Môn was established in 1995 with the main objective of maximising the diverse resources we have. Menter Iaith Môn was established as part of the enterprise agency in 1997 following a successful application to the Welsh Language Board. 27 years later Menter Iaith Môn provides a cross-section of provisions and activities that support efforts to maintain the Welsh language locally, and provide opportunities for Island residents to use their Welsh.
The work is carried out by 5 members of staff. Our work is also supported by volunteers. Our head office is based at The Town Hall, Llangefni but many of our workarounds are held in our communities.
We are part of the Mentrau Iaith Cymru national network where there is constant support and training to develop skills, influence nationally and support Welsh efforts to give Welsh status.
